the process
scent sense
The old-fashioned cold process method.
This process starts by melting base oils and butters that are chosen for their moisturizing, creaminess and lathering properties. These oils are then blended with a liquid mixture and stirred until they reach a creamy stage. Then the essential oils, fragrance oils and herbs or other ingredients are added. The final mixture is poured into wooden molds, covered and kept warm for 24 hours. The soap will hardened and can be removed from the molds, cut into bars and set to cure for a minimum of 2 to 3 weeks. All of the ingredients are 100% natural and of very high quality. Many herbs are grown at here at Stone Cottage.
